Quotes: Food for thought

Posted by Guru on May 9th, 2008

I picked this quote from my dear friend, Raj’s blog. It reminded me of the dichotomy of our claims. Most of the times we don’t take enough responsibility for our actions, especially when the results are not impressive. If the results are great, then yes its all because of my thoughts and actions. If the results are not that good, then it is due to someone else or some external factor and I had no control over it. Let’s use the quote below and let’s begin to take ownership of our thoughts and actions. Then, may be, we can open the gates to a new future that is heaven-like.

“The mind is its own place,
and in itself can make heaven of hell,
or a hell of heaven”

- John Milton

Chuck Nyren of the Advertising to Baby Boomers recently posted this blog post that we thought is very interesting and might be valuable to our readers. We had recently linked to an article in Dallas Morning News about Dr.Robert Butler and his work on ageing and eldercare. In this post, Chuck Nyren gives some interesting information about Dr.Butler, The international Longevity Center as well as links to an interview with Dr.Butler, published by our good friend Ronni Bennett of TimGoesBy. If you haven’t checked Ronni’s blog recently it is about time to check it out. She has introduced a guest blogger, Dr.William Thomas, one of the nation’s leading geriatrician.  Also the results of her latest ElderBlogger Survey are published now. So check it out to get all this and much more exciting stuff.

Quotes: Food for thought

Posted by Guru on May 2nd, 2008

Here is a very simple, yet very powerful quote that illustrates the power of your belief. Believe in something negative or failure, you are sure to attract it; Believe in success and positive accomplishments, you will work to succeed. When you believe in something very strongly and have faith in yourself, your mind will find ways to make it happen. This is as close to magic as we can get. So unleash your magic power and make success and happiness happen. What are you waiting for?

When you believe you can-you can!
