Before I was introduced to Ronni Bennett's blog, "Time Goes By", I was a blogger but without focus. After discovering TGB I became acquainted with the world of "Elderbloggers" and my life has been enriched by this association. I remain pained by Ronni's decision to quit TGB but I am thankful for all she has contributed to our lives. I hope she decides to return one day soon.

If you live outside the States, it is really easy to get the impression that Americans are obsessed with youth and consider old a dirty word. Ronni’s blog, the people who commented on it, showed me that there is a sane and adventurous alternative. Ronni, as spokesperson, kept me thinking, kept me optimistic.

Ronni articulates so well exactly the issues that are important to this elder. I became a blogger because of her and her blog. I strongly support her efforts to influence the perception of aging and "old people." I believe the language used in reference to us is critical in doing so. I believe the elders of my generation coupled with the Boomer numbers are in a position to alter attitudes toward aging through language and our actions. Ronni Bennett has set this possibility in motion through her blog which is read not only in the U.S. but other countries.

I hope all Elderbloggers, other readers, continue to incorporate these views of aging, "what it's really like to get older," into their spoken and written words.

I am saddened with the "shutting down" of TGB, the thought of not being able to read what Ronni Bennett writes. I also am extremely appreciative of the effort and commitment she devotes to her writing. I wish her only the best in the future, but I will miss her.
